Important Notes and Reminders:

GSL/LP Wrestling is hosting a meet at Lester Prairie High School on January 20. We are looking for
help with keeping the book and clock for matches. Please contact Jenna Wolff (320-395-3005

CONTEST ANNOUNCEMENT: Local K of C to Sponsor Youth Free Throw Championship!
All boys and girls ages 9 to 14 are invited to participate in the local level of competition for the 2022
Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship. This event is free to the participants.  The local
competition will be held January 23rd with registration starting at 11:30 and the competition starting at
12:00 noon at the Holy Trinity School Gym. The Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship is
sponsored annually, with winners progressing through local, district, and state competitions.
International champions are announced by the K of C international headquarters based on scores
from the state-level competitions. All boys and girls 9 to 14 years old are eligible to participate and will
compete in their respective age divisions. Last year more than 120,000 sharpshooters participated in
over 3,600 local competitions. All contestants on the local level are recognized for their participation
in the event. Participants are required to furnish proof of age and written parental consent. For entry

2521  bjork@lp.k12.mn.us . The Knights of Columbus is an international Catholic family fraternal
service organization with over 1.8 million members in 15,000 local councils. Last year, Knights
donated over 70 million volunteer hours and $170 million to charitable and benevolent causes,
sponsoring projects to benefit their church, councils, communities, culture of life, families and youth.
At the local level within the last few years we have had two participants advance and win all the way
to the state level and even one international champion.

Session 1 of Driver Education Classroom Instruction is 3:00-6:00 PM February 28 – March 11, 2022.
Cost is $120. Registration forms are available in the main entrance vestibule and online under Driver
Education on the Community Ed page of the school website. Session 2 will be scheduled for
sometime in the Summer.

The Booster Club is looking for volunteers to help sell tickets and be gym door monitors at upcoming
home basketball events. It's a fun way to give back to the school! If interested please contact Sally by
calling or texting 320-282-2922 or email sallymaekappel@hotmail. com for available dates.

ECFE – Winter Stories
Does your child love a good bedtime story? Come join us as we read books about polar bears, snow,
penguins, and a cozy mitten for animals. There will be a large group story time and crafts for each
book. It’s the perfect way to spend a chilly winter evening.Time: 6:00-7:00 PM
Teacher: Helen Lester
Cost: $15 per child per session
Location: Preschool Room, Room 139

Walk and Fit Class
We will walk the halls while performing exercises with dumbbells to increase cardio and we will use
the Fitness Center for resistance training to increase strength. Any fitness level/age can attend. The
class can be modified for you. Come move your body and feel better!
Dates: Tuesdays, January – March 2022
Time:   Beginner – 5:30 PM      Advanced – 6:15 PM
Cost: $6 per session

This class is for people who have never tried yoga before and/or those that are at a beginner’s level.
You will learn breathing, stretching, and some basic poses to increase range of motion, increase
strength, and decrease stress. Please bring a water bottle, yoga mat, yoga block and a yoga strap. I
do have a few blocks and straps to borrow if you need to.
Dates: Thursdays, January – March 2022
Time: 6:00 PM
Cost: $6 per session

Activities and Sports:

Open Gym will be held 3:00-4:30 PM on Sunday January 16 and Sunday January 23 in the North

Gym. Please bring a change of shoes and wear only indoor shoes in the gym. Students younger than

7th grade must be accompanied by a parent.

The boy’s game on Monday, Jan. 17th will be on KGLB AM 1310. Go Bulldogs!

Any student, grades 7-12 boys & girls, interested in being part of the Bulldog Trap Shooting team
there will be a preseason team meeting on Sunday January 23, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. in Mr. Bjork's room
(Room 111).  You MUST have your Minnesota DNR Firearms Safety certificate in order to participate
on the team.  See Mr. Bjork if you have questions.

Dates for Future Hoopsters in the North Gym: January 15, 22, and 29. Please wear indoor shoes in
the gym.  Future Hoopster Night will be held on Thursday February 3 during the Boys Basketball

Tue 1/11 – 7/8 Boys Basketball players are dismissed at 2:35 for their games at TCU (Le Center). The
bus will leave at 2:50

Tue 1/11 – The bus for C Squad Boys Basketball will leave at 5:10 for their game at Mayer Lutheran

Fri 1/14 – The bus for 7/8 Boys Basketball will leave at 3:25 for their games at Sibley East

Sat 1/15 – The bus for Knowledge Bowl will leave at 6:20 AM for their meet at Dawson-Boyd HS

Sat 1/15 – The bus for One Act Play will leave at 6:10 AM for their competition at LeSueur Henderson

Sat 1/15 – The bus for JH Girls Basketball will leave at 8:45 for their tournament at BOLD in Olivia
