No School for students on Friday, January 20 because it is the last day of the second quarter.
Congratulations to the 5th grade boys basketball on winning both of their games this past weekend in Cologne by defeating Hutchinson – 43 – 18 and Glencoe Silver Lake 36-13……..way to go! – Coach Z
There will be no practice this evening due to the DARE program being held in the gym this evening.
Bulldog Girls Basketball “Fill the Gym Night” will be on Thursday, January 19th in the LP Gym. The JV game is at 6:00 p.m. and the varsity game is 7:30 p.m. The first 100 students (grades K-12) attending the game will
receive a Bulldog Wrist Lanyard! All students in 5th grade and under must be accompanied by an adult. The items will be given away starting at 6:00 p.m. There will also feature a half-court shot at half time of the varsity game. This event is sponsored by the LP Booster Club. Come and show your support of the Girl’s
Basketball Team!!!!
There will be pep band for Thursday’s game. Please be in the band room at 6:55pm. Thanks!-Mrs. Helland
There will NOT be drumline this Wednesday.
The Lester Prairie Bulldoll Dancers made the coaches and captains proud after their performance last week!
There will be more fun filled dance night to come. Congratulations girls!
Knowledge Bowl Meet on Saturday, January 21 is at Hutchinson. The bus leaves at 8:00 a.m. There will not
be concessions but we will stop some place after the meet.
All boys and girls ages 10 to 14 are invited to participate in the local level of competition for the 2012 Knights
of Columbus Free Throw Competition. The local competition will be held Sunday January 22 nd at 12:30. Sign
up starts at 12:00 at the Winsted Holy Trinity High School Gym. All contestants on the local level are
recognized for their participation in the event. Participants are required to furnish proof of age and written
parental consent. For entry forms or additional information contact Brian Anderson 320-395-2806.
Junior Class: The Pizza Ranch Fundraiser will run through Friday, Jan. 27. Please see Ms. Olson to get your
order form packets. Our class goal is to sell 600 or more pizzas. The prize for meeting this goal is a class pizza
party with pizzas provided free of charge by the Pizza Ranch. The pizzas will be delivered to the school on
Thursday, Feb. 2 – just in time for Super Bowl parties!!!!!
Any student in grades 7-12 who wishes to be part of the LPHS Trap Shooting Team should pick up a packet in
the office. All forms and fees must be turned in to Mr. Bjork by January 19th. See Mr. Bjork if you have questions. Students interested in being on the LPHS Trap Shooting Team please pay close attention to the fees needed to be on the team. If you have not been in a NON-ATHLETIC activity at school this year you need to
pay the $130. If you have been in a NON-ATHLETIC activity at school this year you have to pay the $115.
Also, please remember to include a copy of you Firearms Safety certificate from the MN DNR with your paperwork. Finally, the competition day for the team has moved from Wednesday to Sunday afternoon. A time
will be determine soon. See Mr. Bjork if you have any questions.
Fifth grade DARE graduation will be held TONIGHT at 7:00 in the gym. Congratulations to the 5th graders!
A big thank you for everyone who worked on cleaning and organizing the library over the holiday break! The
students & teachers really appreciate it!!! We’ll continue working on this project on Saturday (January 21st) 8-
10am. If you are able to help out with this project, you can come to the library during those times.
The next free lunch will be on January 25 at the Lester Prairie City Hall. We will also be working for Feed My
Starving children while at City Hall. The middle school students will work from 11:00-12:00 and eat from
12:00-12:20. The high school students will work from 12:00-1:00 and eat from 1:00-1:20.
The LA8 students will attend The Diary of Anne Frank play on Tuesday, Feb. 28 for the school day.
Please do not use the gym from 6-8 am on Wednesday mornings. Thanks!
Homework Help is available for grades 2-12 in the media center from 3-4 p.m. on Tues., Wed., and Thurs.
There is one XXL old basketball warm-up jerseys for sale in the office at a price of only $2.00.
Order your 2011-2012 Elementary Yearbook now! The cost is only $15 and the 16 page full color book includes all grades (preschool through grade 5). Order forms are available in the office and all orders are due by Tuesday, January 24. The yearbooks will be delivered in May, 2012.
There is one 26/27 inch Bike on the east side of school by the bike rack near the SE entrance doors. There is a 20 inch bike on the north door bike rack. Both bikes have been at school since Nov. 1st. Please take these bikes home by the end of this week or they will be disposed of. Thank you!
