LESTER PRAIRIE, MN – Lester Prairie School Bulletin

December 9, 2009

(2 hour late start)

The elementary will practice for their music concert today at the following times:

Grades 1-3 1:15-1:50

Grades 4-6 2:00-2:30

The concert will be tomorrow at 7:00 p.m.

Attn: 10-12 Boys Basketball Players: Remember to wear your maroon jerseys for pictures today. They will

start right after school.

There will not be wrestling practice after school today.

There will not be Release today.

Whoever borrowed the tropical and fluorescent marker sets from the art room, please return them. Thank you!

EVERYONE – all students and staff – must put cardboard for recycling in the barrel. All boxes must be

broken down before putting them in the barrel.

Knowledge Bowl practice will be Thursday after school until 4:00 pm.

The NHS is having a seatbelt survey. They are in the office. Please place them back into the box in the office

by Friday. We will draw names for prizes. Thanks!

Homework Help for Grades 7-12 will be held on Tuesdays and Thursday starting December 8th. Meet in the

Media Center with Mrs. Helland.

Time: 3-4 pm

The all season and highlight DVD for football is done. Those who ordered one should come to Mr. Scoblic’s

room and pick it up.

There is an early sign-up sheet for 7-12 softball players in the office. Please sign up by Friday, December 18.

The LP Booster Club has some great on hand items perfect for that special someone and stocking stuffers.

The DVDs of the play are in. If you paid your $7.00 you may pick up your copy in the office. If you have not

paid your $7.00 you will need to bring it before you can receive your copy.

The following students were the top two finishers in their grade on the Spelling Bee preliminary test. Here are

the finalists with the number correct. There were 50 words. The local Spelling Bee has been rescheduled for

Wednesday, December 16th at 4:00 p.m. in the media center. Congratulations to the winners and all

participants.

The weight room in Lester Prairie is open M-Th from 3:05-4:15. It will stay open as long as students continue

to show.

Open gym is held on Sundays from 1-2:30. Adult open gym starts on Wednesday, November 18th from 7:15-

9:00. The cost for adults is $2.00 and students $1.00.

The National Honor Society is now collecting toys and/or money for Mary’s Place. We will be collecting until

Friday, December 11th. This is a class challenge! Thanks you!

The National Honor Society will be selling candy canes during lunch hour starting December 7th and ending

December 18th. The candy canes will be delivered to anyone in the school. The money raised through these

sales will go to Mary’s Place.

The After Prom Party Committee will be having their meeting on Wednesday, December 9th at 6:00 p.m. in

Room #143. All sophomore, junior and senior parents are invited to attend. We are still looking for someone ot

help out with games/entertainment. If you have any questions, please feel free to call Patty Dietel at 612-205-9791.

Please continue to clip and save box tops (see BTFE.com for more information). The next contest is for

students in grades K-12 to win their favorite teacher a $25 gift certificate to a Spa/Salon. Submit box tops

(check expiration dates) with the teacher’s name on the package (baggie, envelope etc.), and turn them in at the

recycling bin located by the old elementary office. The teacher who gets the most box tops submitted for them

will win the gift certificate. The deadline for submissions is Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009.
