School dismissed at 11:30 due to weather. No afternoon kindergarten or evening activities. Elementary students eat at school, high school students will not eat at school.

Lester Prairie has been selected to participate in the Fox 9 School Spirit Bracket Challenge. Rally your friends, classmates and co-workers to vote for your school! 64 schools will meet head to head until one school can claim the title and win the Spirit Cup, a live broadcast from your school, FREE food from Arby’s, and bragging rights, of course! Go to www.foxpreps.com and click on the Spirit Contest link. From there follow the directions provided (LP is in the outstate schools bracket). Voting starts today at noon. Let’s make sure we all vote and show the entire state how much school spirit LP has. GO BULLDOGS!!

Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 9 and Thursday, Feb. 11 from 4-8. These conferences are for students K-12.

If you are a high school student, grade 10 or above, who wants to explore manufacturing or health care careers, you will want to continue reading! There will be a Manufacturing Camp at the Ridgewater Hutchinson Campus and a Health Care Camp at the Ridgewater Willmar campus this summer. Each camp is two weeks long and is available at no cost!! At the conclusion of each camp, students are considered for a possible paid work experience/mentorship program. ** Applicants do have to have an IEP or 504 plan documenting a health disability. Applications are due by April 15th! If you are interested in applying, please see Mrs. Scoblic.

All students 9-12 who are interested in joining the TFY group and attend a 2day TFY event, please see Mrs. Mattson ASAP.

The Clay Lady will not be here at all today in Ms. Olson’s Class. Please bring your workbooks and novels to class. The Clay Lady will be here on Thursday, Feb. 11.

There will be a free H1N1 Clinic at the Lester Prairie School Media Center on Thursday, February 11, 2010 from 3:30 pm – 7:30 pm. This clinic is open to anyone in the community. Immunizations will be available to anyone over 6 months of age. Children 6 month – 9 years need a booster dose.

Reminder: If you aren’t out for an activity or staying with a staff member to take a test or work on school work ~ you should not be in the building or you need to wait for your ride in the main lobby area.

Seniors: Please hand in your Senior Picture by February 26th. You can give then to Mr. Weber or put them in his mailbox. You also need to bring a baby picture for the yearbook along with your senior picture.

There will be a bake sale during conferences on Thursday, February 11th. NHS workers are needed.

Anyone in the one-act play: Please get your eligibility statement to Mr. Johnson ASAP. Also, your activity fee needs to be paid in the office.

There will be an After-Prom Party meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 10th at 6:00 p.m. in Room #143. All sophomore, junior and senior parents are invited to attend. Please call Patty Dietel at 320-395-2907 with any questions. Thank you!

Pennies for Patients started Monday, Jan. 11th and runs through February 12th. The National Honor Society will be selling suckers for 50¢ during lunch and at home sporting events. There will also be Class Wars so bring in your spare change! The winner of the high school side will win a pizza party!

The weight room in Lester Prairie is open M-Th from 3:05-4:15. It will stay open as long as students continue to show.

Open gym is held on Sundays from 1-2:30. Adult open gym from 7:15-9:00. The cost for adults is $2.00 and students $1.00.

Brianna Radtke Day! On Saturday, February 13th, the Gustavus Women’s Basketball Team takes on Bethel in MIAC conference match-up at 1:00. The game will be played at Gustavus College in St. Peter. There will be a bus leaving from Lester Prairie High School at 11:30 a.m and will return to Lester Prairie High School after the game. This trip is open to anyone in the community or area who would like to watch senior Brianna Radtke and the Gustavus women’s basketball team. The 5th and 6th grade girls basketball teams will be playing during the half. The cost for students and senior citizens is $1 and adults will be $5. The cost includes transportation and admission fee for the game. You will want to have money for the concession stand. Sign up in the office.

Attn. 9 – 12 boys baseball players: Please sign up in the office if you are planning on going out for baseball this spring. – Coach Grams
