LESTER PRAIRIE, MN – Lester Prairie City Council Member Bob Messer presented information about holiday decorations during Tuesday’s council meeting. He explained that the city has had larger displays of holiday decorations on street lights in years past. but no money has been set aside in the past five years for the purchase or maintenance of holiday decorations. Messer said most cities try to present “a continuous effect” in their holiday displays, and suggested that Lester Prairie’s decorations are a bit sparse. He presented information about a company that supplies decorations to many cities. He said the company offers overstock merchandise at a 56 percent discount off of retail prices. The council directed Messer to invite a representative from the company to visit the city so the council can see samples of some of the products.
