LDC girls off to 2-2 start to season

The Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato girls hockey team split their first four games of the season, winning their first two and losing the next two.

The Dragons opened the season with a home win over Minnesota River, and picked up a big 8-2 victory on the road at Princeton.

LDC then made a team overnight trip to the Duluth area Friday and Saturday, where they lost to North Shore 3-2 in overtime, and Moose Lake 6-2.

“Overall, we are proud of the girls’ effort as a coaching staff, especially with how young we are. There are many girls who are playing and logging large amounts of ice time as 8th and 9th graders,” said Matt Hogg, who along with co-head coach Brett Damerow enter their fifth season at the helm. “This is exciting as a coaching staff, because you can see the progress made each shift they take, but there are also mistakes at the varsity level that are bound to be made.”
