DASSEL – The visiting Kimball Express broke a 2-2 tie with a run in the eighth inning, and added two more in the ninth to score a 5-2 victory over the DC Saints Friday.
Kimball jumped out to a 1-0 lead with a run in the second inning, but DC rallied for two in the fourth to go up 2-1.
With one out, Brandel singled, and moved to third on a single by Weber. Weber then stole second.
Collin Krick grounded into a fielders’ choice, scoring Brandel, and J. Niemela followed with a single to score Weber.
That would be it for scoring for the Saints, however.
Kimball scored one in the fifth to tie the game off Saints starter Jordan Flick.
The Express then scored one in the eighth, and two in the ninth, all off reliever James Howell, who took the loss.
