KIMBALL – The Cubs went on an 11-0 run in the second half en route to a 41-32 victory over the Chargers in boys basketball action Friday.
DC trailed by six points at the half, 19-13, but pulled to within 23-20 on a Cade Ortquist three-pointer early in the second half.
However, Kimball responded with 11 straight points, and were never seriously threatened down the stretch.
Ortquist led the Chargers with 14 points, including four three-pointers.
Drew Gustafson led all scorers with 21 points for Kimball, with Noah Jurek adding 10.
The Chargers were without starting guard Sanders Asplin, who is out 6-8 weeks with a broken collarbone suffered in open house basketball Sunday.
