K of C free throw competition set for Jan. 18


All boys and girls ages 9 to 14 are welcome to participate in the local level of competition for the 2015 Knights of Columbus free throw competition. The competition is free and open to all students.

The event will take place Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. Signup starts at noon in the gym at Holy Trinity High School in Winsted.

The Knights of Columbus free throw competition is sponsored annually, with winners progressing through local, district, and state competitions.

International champions are announced by the K of C international headquarters, based on the scores from the state-level competitions.

All boys and girls will compete in their respective age divisions.

All contestants on the local level are recognized for their participation in the event.

Last year, more than 130,000 sharpshooters participated in more than 3,000 local competitions.

Participants are required to furnish proof of age and written parental consent.
