Hunter injured south of New Germany

NEW GERMANY, MN – A hunter was injured, but is recovering, after being accidentally shot during a hunting trip Sunday, south of New Germany, according to Chief Deputy Bob VanDenBroeke of Carver County.

Matthew Rahm, 44, of Big Lake was with a party of four hunters in Camden Township at about 3:20 p.m.   The group was able to shoot a doe, but when they came upon the animal, noticed that it wasn’t dead yet.  Rahm used his 45 cal. hand gun to kill the doe, but when he returned the fire arm to his side, it went off, injuring him in the leg.  He was transported to Ridgeview and is recovering.
