Howard Lake woman hurt in crash

WRIGHT COUNTY, MN – A woman from Howard Lake was hurt in a two-vehicle crash in Rockford this morning (Sept. 12), according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The report stated that Luann Lorraine Ryks, 62, of Howard Lake, was driving a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country east on Highway 55, attempting to turn left onto Main Street in Rockford just before 6 a.m.

As the Chrysler entered the intersection, it collided with a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado that was westbound on Highway 55. The Chevrolet, driven by Dennis Ryan Fogarty, 38, of Plymouth, went off the road to the right and struck a pedestrian post at the semaphore.

The airbags of both vehicles were deployed, and both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

Ryks was transported the North Memorial Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The report stated that Fogarty also had non-life threatening injuries, but was not taken to a health care facility.

The Wright County Sheriff’s Office, Allina Health, and the Rockford Fire Department assisted at the scene.
