UPDATE: The K-9 dog Felony has been found, deceased.  The dog was euthanized after the city’s dog catcher failed to recognize Felony and then brought him to a humane society, that also failed to recognize him. Five days later they euthanized him, which is their standard policy.

HOWARD LAKE, MN – About two weeks ago, the Howard Lake Police Department’s K-9 officer, Felony, escaped his kennel.

Felony is the second drug sniffing K-9 the department has ever had, and has been with the police department since 2002.

Felony is an 11-year-old black lab with a graying face due to age. He has a collar with a Howard Lake tag and a Cokato vet clinic tag.

The police department is considering offering a reward.  “We just want him back,” Chief Tracy Vetruba said.  Any information about Felony’s disappearance or location can be directed to the Howard Lake Police Department at (320) 543-3670, Ext. 4.
