HOWARD LAKE, MN – As the next step in making the Howard Lake Municipal Liquor Store more secure, and after many discussions about the matter within the liquor store committee, the Howard Lake City Council approved the lease of a four-camera system during Tuesday’s council meeting.
The system will be leased from Century Systems for $107 a month for two years, with a $386 down payment. At the end of the lease, the city can pay the company $1 to take over ownership of the system.
The four dome-type cameras will be mounted to the ceiling in targeted areas within the store.
“I don’t think there’s any businesses now that deal with the public and the exchange of money that don’t have a camera system,” Council Member Mike Mitchell said.
