Howard Lake man injured in crash


SOUTHSIDE TOWNSHIP, MN – A Howard Lake man was among those injured in a three-vehicle crash at 2:17 p.m. Friday.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2013 Ford Expedition driven by Garrett Fronk, 44, of Howard Lake, was eastbound on Highway 55 in Southside Township, while a 2010 Mercedes E350 driven by Marilyn Sundberg, 84, of Minneapolis, was westbound on Highway 55 and attempted to make a left turn on County Road 3, causing it to collide with the Expedition. The Expedition then spun out in the intersection and collided with a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Jesse Mengelkoch, 29, of Annandale.

Fronk suffered noncritical injuries and was transported to Buffalo Hospital.

Sundberg was also transported to the hospital with noncritical injuries.

Mengelkoch was not injured.

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

Road conditions were dry at the time of the crash.

All three individuals were wearing seat belts.
