Howard Lake man escapes injury in weekend traffic crash near New Ulm

A Wright County man escaped injury in a weekend traffic crash near New Ulm.

The Minnesota State Patrol (MSP) reports that around 1:30 p.m. Jan. 21, a Dodge pickup truck and a GMC SUV collided in Cottonwood Township in Brown County. Authorities said that the pickup the SUV were both southbound on Highway 15 when they collided.

Officials say the driver of the pickup, 74-year-old Reuben Bode of Courtland sustained non-life threatening injuries in the crash, and was treated at the New Ulm Hospital.

The driver of the SUV, 62-year-old Donald Sturm of Howard Lake, was not injured.

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office, the New Ulm Police, and Allina EMS assisted the State Patrol at the scene of the crash.
