CARVER COUNTY,MN – A Chaska home was severely damaged by a massive ice buildup after water filled the house while the homeowners were away for several weeks, the Star Tribune reported.

No one was injured, but icicles could be seen inside the home and a sheet of ice covered large portions of the back porch and back walls.

Neighbor Rachel Thompson called police and city workers last Monday to notify them of the problems.

According to the Star Tribune, Thompson and city officials said Wednesday that the family who lives in the home in the 800 block of Newberry Lane could have been gone for as long as a month, reportedly on vacation in Brazil.

The family returned home Tuesday afternoon.
