HLWW volleyball gets 5th seed in playoffs

HOWARD LAKE, MN – The Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted Lakers’ volleyball team were seeded fifth in the Section 6AA, South Sub-section volleyball playoffs.

The Lakers open up section play Thursday, Oct. 29 at St. Cloud Cathedral, the fourth seed, at 7 p.m.

A win Oct. 29 would advance the Lakers into the sub-section semifinals where they would play the winner between top-seeded New London-Spicer and eighth-seeded Paynesville Monday, Nov. 2 at Dassel-Cokato at 6 p.m.

HLWW wraps up its regular season tonight (Thursday) when they host Pierz in Central Minnesota Conference play at 7:30 p.m.

The Lakers were scheduled to host Glencoe-Silver Lake Monday, Oct. 26, but that match has been canceled.
