HOWARD LAKE-WAVERLY-WINSTED, MN – Homecoming at Howard-Lake-Waverly-Winsted School was extended into eight days this year, Oct. 12 through Friday, Oct. 23, so more of the student body could participate on days when they are at school. The theme this year is movies.
Dress up days: Monday, Oct. 19 – Men in Black; Tuesday, Oct. 20 – DL Superhero; Wednesday, Oct. 21 – Harry Potter; Thursday, Oct. 22 – Marvel Superhero; Friday, Oct. 23 – Laker Pride.
Homecoming candidates are: Queen – Abby Niesen, Candace Krumweide, Rachel Scherping, Katelyn Waataja, Neva Diers, Marit Gueningsman; and King – Noah Bush, Spencer Lade, Bennett Anderson, AJ Gatz, Kyle Driver, and Jake Zander.
Coronation will take place in the auditorium Monday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. It is a ticketed event, but will be live-streamed by KLKR.
Students will compete in movie trivia next week for prizes. Candidates will also decorate vehicles for a “parade” that will visit the elementary schools, middle school, and high school.
