HOWARD LAKE, WAVERLY, WINSTED, MN – High School Bulletin 1/17/12

BOYS BASKETBALL: Games at home with Holdingford; tipoff is 6 p.m.

GIRLS BASKETBALL: Results from Kimball: Varsity and C-Squad both won.

GYMNASTICS: HLWW varsity scored 122.5 taking 3rd place in division two of the Maple Lake Invitational. McCall Kleve placed 2nd on vault with a score of 8.75, and tied for 5th place on beam with a score of 8.0. Bridget Leukuma placed 3rd on bars with a score of 8.0, tied for 3rd on beam with a score of 8.2, and 5th on floor with a score of 7.85. Shelby Kocher placed 3rd on floor with a score of 8.1. Bridget Leukuma placed 3rd for all around with a total score of 32.35. McCall Kleve placed 4th for all around with a total score of 31.7. Shelby Kocher placed 5th all around with a total score of 31.35. Congratulations!

WRESTLING: Results from MayPort CG wrestling: The Laker wrestlers took second place last Friday night in the Red River Valley Showdown dual tournament. The Lakers lost to Fosston-Bagely in the finals. Dylan Youngren won all three matches on Friday night. The Lakers won the MPCG Invitational on Saturday in Mayville, ND. The team was led by champions Dylan Youngren and Joel Koch. Runner ups were Chris Cox, Josiah Riemer, and Garrett Schanus. Placing third were David Cox and William Scanus. Taking fourth were Rob McBee, Dylan Pelnis, Tyler Miller. Josh Laxen placed fifth while Kyle Forbragd placed sixth.Congratulations to both Rob McBee and Tyler Miller on their first varsity wins!

JO VOLLEYBALL PLAYERS there will be a mandatory officiating clinic that will take place at the HLWW Middle School Auditorium Sunday, Feb. 5 starting at 10 a.m. Athletes who do not attend this clinic will have to attend one on their own by March 1. (No practice this day).

Concession Stand Workers for upcoming games: TONIGHT, Jan. 17 – Ashley Burke, Tyler Miller, and PARENT VOLUNTEER NEEDED; Friday, Jan. 20 – Karly Hertzog, Katelyn Fritz, and parent Sue Fritz; Saturday, Jan. 21 – 3 p.m. session – Gabe and Zach Synstelein, parent Janelle Synstelein; Saturday, Jan. 21 – 6p.m. session- Jackson Houston, Sam Stender, and PARENT VOLUNTEER NEEDED.
