HLWW Community Education is offering the chance to attend a Star Watch Party with Mike Lynch, Saturday, April 17 from 8:15 to 10:15 p.m. at the Cokato Township Hall.
Attendees should bring a lawn chair, and be prepared to watch a celestial show in the skies over Cokato. They will have the opportunity to use some of the largest mobile telescopes in Minnesota for close-up views of the moon, star clusters, nebulae, galaxies, and other wonders in the early spring skies.
Participants will be required to sign a liability release form, wear a mask even while outdoors and maintain social distancing.
Please dress for the weather, as this entire program takes place outdoors.
Mike Lynch is a retired meteorologist from WCCO Radio, and has been hosting star watch parties and teaching astronomy for nearly 50 years. He also writes a weekly stargazing column for the St. Paul Pioneer Press and is the author of several books.
There is a $20 fee for adults, and and $8 fee for children.
