HLWW BBB state tournament info

HOWARD LAKE-WAVERLY-WINSTED – The Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted Lakers boys’ basketball team is headed to the Class 2A state tournament starting Wednesday, March 25. Below is the any general information you might be looking for.

Opponent
Montevideo Thunder Cats; 21-7 on the season; Section 3AA champions; this is Montevideo’s sixth state tournament appearance; the Thunder Cats were in the Class 2A state tournamnet last year, losing to Maple River 64-53 in the quarterfinals.
Tickets
Tickets will be on sale at HLWW High School starting today (Monday) from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. And then Tuesday, March 24 and Wednesday, March 25 from 8 a.m. to noon. All tickets are general admission, and are $12 for adults and $8 for students.
Fan bus
A fan bus will be going to the game. Cost to ride the bus is $3. Sign up at the high school office, and students will need a signed note (faxed or e-mailed, no calls). The bus will leave at 5:15 p.m. from the high school.
Team send off
The send off for the Lakers to the state tournament is Wednesday, March 18 and will begin at 11 a.m. All fans are welcome to attend.
Semifinals
Should the Lakers top Montevideo, their next game would be Friday, March 20 at the Target Center starting at 8 p.m.
