Highway 20 paving started July 10

CARVER COUNTY, MN – Progress is being made on Hwy. 20 in Carver County: Cold-in-place recycling and resurfacing work has begun. Paving started July 10 on the west end. Rain delays have slowed production and curing of the mixture. Paving on the east end will follow a week later.
The cold-in-place recycling method uses the existing asphalt, along with an asphalt recycling agent, and places it back down on the roadway. Not only does this reduce the need for new materials (and reduces the project cost), but it also saves on the energy needed to create that new material and have it hauled to the project site.
