GYMNASTICS: DC gymnasts say goodbye to regular season

COKATO — The Dassel-Cokato gymnasts said goodbye to their home gym and goodbye to the regular season Feb. 6, after hosting Rockford in a Wright County Conference dual meet.

The Chargers also took the time to honor Susie Keskey for her 40-plus years of dedication to the gymnastics program. Keskey was given the Super Fan award.

The fans were entertained by some exceptional gymnastics from both teams. A total of six 9s were awarded.

Four of those 9s went to the all-around winner, Alayna Schloeder of Rockford.

Schloeder scored 37.650 all-around points. She swept the individual events, scoring a 9.55 in vault, a 9.30 in bars, a 9.225 in beam, and a 9.575 in floor.

Dassel-Cokato’s Lauren Abfalter earned one of those 9s. The judges awarded Abfalter a 9.25 in vault.

Rockford’s Elise Bjorn scored a 9.10 vault.

Rockford scored 133.200 points to take the dual meet win.

Dassel-Cokato finished with 129.425 points.
