COKATO — Coach Rob Walters has been praising his players in recent weeks for their level of play, despite those efforts not resulting in wins.

Last Saturday, Feb. 15, in the second game of a home-and-home series with Mound-Westonka, the Chargers finally harvested the fruits of their effort in the form of a 54-41 win.

“I thought we played really well. They played together as a team, with great defense, and we owned the boards, giving them one shot for the most part,” said Walters. “We will use that win as a stepping stone heading into the playoffs.”

It was Dassel-Cokato’s second win of the season (2-21) and first win since Dec. 6, when they took care of Kimball 54-68.

The night before, Feb. 14 at Mound-Westonka High School, the White Hawks took the victory, 55-41.
