Frederick Elmer Halonen, 93, of Cokato, MN, passed away March 22, 2023, at his home.
A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, April 3, 2023, at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church in Dassel, MN, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also take place Sunday, April 2, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the church.
I was sad to learn that Fred has passed away. I worked with “Mr. Halonen”, a dignified man, in Lester Prairie, sharing many students as a special education teacher in the “House” across from the main building. He was a caring, perceptive person, with a quiet sense of humor that showed how much he enjoyed his students. He touched many lives, including mine. You have my deepest sympathy and prayers of comfort.
