Emergency executive order will help address need for propane

ST. PAUL, MN – Governor Mark Dayton today signed Emergency Executive Order 17-16, to deliver emergency relief from regulations incorporated in Minnesota Statutes, section 221.0314, subdivision 9, pertaining to hours of service for motor carriers and drivers providing direct assistance in emergency relief efforts.

Minnesota and the upper Midwest have faced colder than average temperatures which are expected to continue for the next seven to ten days, creating an increased need to heat homes, farms, and businesses across the state. Governor Dayton’s Emergency Executive Order will help increase the supply of propane to heat more than 200,000 homes, 3,300 hog and 3,746 poultry operations, and other farms and businesses across the state.
