WRIGHT COUNTY, HENNEPIN COUNTY, MN – A free pork chop dinner will be featured during the 73rd annual meeting for the Wright-Hennepin Cooperative Electric Association Tuesday, March 30.
The event will be at Wright-Hennepin’s headquarters along Highway 55 in Rockford.
The free pork chop dinner will be served from 4:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. A short business meeting will follow at 7 p.m. Chris Lantto, Wright-Hennepin board chair and Mark Vogt, Wright-Hennepin president and CEO, will report on the cooperative’s overall competitive, financial and operational performance in 2009, which is “excellent,” according to a statement from the association.
Also, results of the election for directors in Districts 4, 6, and 8 will be announced at the meeting. District 4 includes Waverly, Montrose and Delano. The other districts are non-local and cover an area in Hennepin County.
Incumbent directors up for re-election in 2010 are Dale Jans of Buffalo in District 4, Thomas Mach of Maple Grove in District 6, and Donald Lucas of Maple Grove in District 8. All of these directors re-filed.
Members elected to these positions will begin their terms immediately after the 2010 annual meeting Tuesday, March 30.
“Members have told us they like concise business reports and that’s what we plan to do again this year,” Lantto stated in a press release. “As in past years, we’ve planned for a one-hour business meeting so members can be home early.”
Many fun activities are planned, including bingo from 4:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., crafts for children ages 2 to 10 conducted by area Girl Scouts, and the chance to win a Ford Taurus car, retired from Wright-Hennepin’s fleet of vehicles.
Educational booths featuring energy saving ideas, products and the latest in technology will also be featured.
Product displays will include prize drawings. Registration for the annual meeting begins at 4 p.m.
