Two-vehicle accident in Hutch injures one

HUTCHINSON, MN – A two-vehicle accident injured a Stewart woman April 19, south of Hutchinson near the airport.

Kathy Lynne Klucas Kirsch, 55, of Stewart ended up in the hospital after an accident at the intersection of McLeod County Road 7 and Airport Road (County Road 8) at about 7:21 p.m. in Hutchinson, according to the McLeod County Sheriff’s Office.

Kirsch was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer, when her vehicle struck a 2008 Ford F-350 Super Duty pickup pulling a dual axle trailer. The truck is owned by Myron Schuette Construction, and was being driven by Adam Nathanial Werner, 27, of Litchfield, according to the accident report.

Kirsch stopped at the stop sign on County Road 7, according to the sheriff’s office, and then pulled out into the intersection, striking Werner, who was heading west on County Road 8. Kirsch was transported by the Hutchinson ambulance to the Hutchinson Hospital for injuries received. Werner signed off with the Hutchinson ambulance service with no transport and no injuries.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts. The Hutchinson Fire Department and the Minnesota State Patrol also assisted at the scene.
