COKATO, MN - Harvey Barberg visited downtown Cokato businesses and handed out candy for St. Urho’s Day March 16. Urho is the patron saint of Finland. Barberg was dressed in royal purple and Nile green, the celebrated colors of St. Urho’s Day. The legend says St. Urho chased grasshoppers out of ancient Finland saving the grape crops. Barberg also joked that Osmo Vanska, the Minnesota Orchestra director, would be the grand marshal for the invisible parade that would take place from 12 to 12:01 p.m. in Cokato that day.
