The Dassel house that was burned today (Friday) is uninhabitable and the Palm family (as a blended family — four boys, and I believe three girls) have lost their clothes and belongings, including Christmas presents. I can’t forget that wet ashtray smell that floats near our house, even now, which is located just over the railroad from theirs. As the crow flies, their house is less than a mile from ours. The Red Cross and Salvation Army are taking care of their immediate needs, but their clothes and numerous other belongings will need to be replaced at a cost. Please consider even a small donation to them — send to Wells Fargo, PO Box 387, Dassel, MN 55325.

This family has been through so much this past year. Shelly Wagner was Shari’s sister and died from injuries sustained in a car crash in June of this year. I know that the Palm family has been helping with the Wagner children since their mother’s unexpected passing. I believe that the Wagner children may have even been living with the Palms.
Please, please, please! If there is any way that you can assist this family please do it. They have to be in shock and how much more can a family be expected to endure? Let’s show this family what Christmas is all about. It shouldn’t be whether there is a WII waiting for your family under the tree. It should be that we show this family God’s love and support them during this difficult time.
God Bless and a Merry Christmas to all……….hopefully that will include the Palm family.
