COKATO, MN – In a tight fourway race for official endorsement, Scott Newman of Hutchinson was endorsed by Republicans from three counties during a convention at the Dassel-Cokato PAC in Cokato today (Saturday) in the state senate race for District 18.
There race for the Republican ticket included Tim Benoit of Dassel, Dean Mahlstedt of Cokato, Randy Wilson of Glencoe and Newman. The seat is being vacated by Steve Dille (R-Dassel).

District 18 includes all of Meeker and McLeod counties, plus the following area in Wright County: the cities of Howard Lake, Cokato, and Annandale; and townships of French Lake, Middleville, South Haven, Southside, and Stockholm.
