COKATO, MN – Area customers of Wright-Hennepin Electric experienced a short power outage Tuesday evening around 7:30 p.m. after a car struck a transmission, according to a Wright-Hennepin representative. Two of the electric cooperative’s substations were affected in the areas of Maple Lake, Howard Lake, and Cokato. Because of the power outage, the Dassel-Cokato High School’s boys’ varsity basketball game was delayed about 45 minutes, according to Perry Thinesen, activities director. The game was scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. but didn’t begin until about 8:15 p.m.
