DASSEL, MN – The Dassel City Council will meet tonight, Monday, May 7 with a public hearing starting at 7 p.m. for the purpose of discussing the city’s Xcel Energy franchise agreement. Also among the items on the agenda are information regarding the playground equipment grant, staff reports, and setting a public hearing for the Williams Street project of replacing the sanitary sewer line, along with a lift station at Maple Street.
Applications are being sought by the Wright County Fair Board from those interested in entering the Fairest of the Fair ambassador program.

Candidates must be residents of Wright County; female; never married; having no dependents; 17 to 22 years old; friendly and outgoing; and, willing and excited to promote the fair to the general public.
Candidates will be joining the current royalty and other young women from across the county for some fun this summer.

DASSEL, MN – The Lake Washington Improvement Association’s spring meeting will take place Saturday, May 5 at the Dassel Rod and Gun Club.
Social hour will take place between 5 and 6 p.m., and dinner will be served at 6 p.m. A program about purple martins will be presented by Tom Lyke at 6:30 p.m., followed by committee reports. Board elections will take place at 8 p.m.
COKATO, MN – The Cokato Laestadian Lutheran Church will host special spring services Friday, May 4 through Sunday, May 6, with visiting pastors Nathan Muhonen of Rockford, and John Stewart, Seattle, WA.
Services will take place Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 4:30 p.m., and Sunday beginning at 10:30 a.m., with a dinner at 5 p.m.
