An official-looking email being circulated to local recipients has been labeled a fraud by the IRS. The email is shown below, and features an official-looking government link with a return email that has the .gov and IRS referenced in it. This is a fraud, and is being turned over to the IRS investigative unit, said Carrie Resch of the IRS. “The IRS never sends emails like this – we don’t send unsolicited emails about ANY tax account matters,” she said.
