DASSEL-COKATO, MN - Nick Clasemann,a 2006 Dassel-Cokato grad, is performing as the lead character, Troy, in Disney’s High School Musical 2 on stage now at the Paramount Theatre in St. Cloud. Clasemann attributes his continued passion for theater from practice he had in high school and his former theater director, Becky Thielsen.
In 2008, Clasemann performed in a more minor role in the first High School Musical, which was when he realized how much he missed acting and theater.
“It made me realize I loved theatre and I needed to get back into it,” he said.
Now, he’s playing Troy, a confused high school all-star basketball player who ends the year having learned a little bit more of who he really is and what he wants out of life.
There are only three shows left, Friday May, 8 at 7 .m.; Saturday, May 9; and Sunday, May 10, with two shows, at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
