COKATO, MN– Mural artist Lance Albers takes down one of the 13 mural panels along the west side exterior wall of the Cokato Museum that will be restored. The Cokato Historical Society was recently awarded a $5,760 grant by the Central Minnesota Arts Board for restoration work on the historic mural. The total cost of the project will be $7,200, with the remainder of the funds coming from the sale of the historical society’s 2011 calendars. Restoration will include sanding distressed areas and repainting. When completed, the mural will look like it did when first installed in 1997.
