Meeker Co. Sheriff’s Office arrests woman in connection with horse tack theft

MEEKER, WRIGHT, McLEOD COUNTIES, MN – A 44-year-old Hutchinson woman was arrested Saturday in connection with a December theft of thousands of dollars in horse-related tack, the Hutchinson Leader reported.

The arrest followed a joint investigation involving the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office, along with the sheriff’s offices in Wright, Carver and Renville counties.

The four agencies executed a search warrant Saturday at 73265 640th St., Franklin, Minn. As a result of stolen property recovered, the Hutchinson woman was arrested. She is being held in the Renville County Jail pending formal charges.

The arrest is the culmination of an investigation that began in December when Alan Koch of rural Litchfield reported the loss of several thousand dollars of horse equipment. The theft became part of a larger investigation by several agencies in Central Minnesota involving burglaries and thefts of horse tack.
