Litchfield officer involved in shooting this morning

LITCHFIELD, MN — A Litchfield police officer was involved in a shooting incident at 1:30 a.m. Sunday, March 15 in the 300 block of Litchfield Avenue, according to the Litchfield Police Department. Circumstances about the nature of the call the officer was on were not released.

A suspect was transported to Meeker Memorial Hospital then airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center. The officer involved was not injured, and was placed on administrative leave, which is standard procedure. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension was called to the scene at the request of the Litchfield Police Department. Further information or names of those involved have not been released at this time.
