Fire destroys house in Dassel Township

DASSEL, MN – A house in the 71500 block of 268th Street in Dassel Township is considered a “total loss” after a fire Tuesday morning, according to the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office.

The homeowner, Scott Pusc, 44, called the sheriff’s office at about 9:57 a.m. because smoke was coming from his house. The Dassel Fire Department, Cokato Fire Department, and Meeker County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene. No one was injured.

Red Cross was called to the scene to assist the homeowner. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office.

Shed fire in Darwin Twp.

A separate incident the sheriff’s office responded to recently was a shed fire at a residence on  678th Avenue in Darwin Township. The fire was reported at 2:09 p.m. May 12, and the shed was a total loss. The name of the owner was not provided in the report.
