Fire destroys building in Dassel Township

DASSEL TOWNSHIP, MN – A storage building in Dassel Township was destroyed by fire late Monday evening, according to a press release from the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office was called to the fire in the 22300 block of County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 6 at 10:21 p.m. Jan. 1. Homeowner Raymond Wagner, 59, told deputies the building was used to store firewood.

The Cokato and Dassel fire departments worked to extinguish the blaze. The building was considered a total loss, according to the press release. No one was injured, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
