About eight to 10 FBI agents descended on the Meeker County Courthouse and Law Enforcement Center this week. The news media is buzzing about it, even the big outlets. Neither the County Attorney Stephanie Beckman nor Paul McCabe, the communications director for the Minneapolis FBI’s office, is allowed to say anything about what the investigation is about. It’s too bad no one can say anything, because it makes it sound worse than it probably is. Their silence makes people’s imagination run wild. Also, it’s not uncommon for the FBI to interview several people at the same time, so the people being interviewed can’t collude on their stories. It doesn’t mean that a big crime occurred because eight to 10 agents are gathering information, instead of one or two.

A big nothing?? That makes no sense. The FBI is not going to commit 10 agents pulled in from around the state to investigate a “big nothing”. Time will tell, but just as you state that it causes peoples imaginations to run wild, it is premature for you to state that is is a “big nothing”. It may not be a big crime, but perhaps it is a bunch of little ones or just plain misconduct that isnt criminal. Again, we dont know yet..lets wait for the official information release from the FBI, it will come out eventually. Then we will have our facts!!
How does Stan R know the agents were pulled in from around the state? Did he talk to them and ask them where they are from? I agree, though, it’s probably not a big crime at all. The agents were just seeking information.
roz He did not say “it’s probale not a big crime at all” He said “It may not be a big crime”. That seems to leave the door open for, it may be. How does He know they pull agents from around the State, I assume that Litchfield does not have 10 agents of its own.
I do think it is a big deal if officials missuse the office they take.
don’t stick your head in the sand. Talk to a few people. You have a former Meeker County Deputy living in Dassel.
When was the last time the Sheriff’s Dept didn’t jump at the chance to make a comment or have its picture in the paper.
I happen to know for a “FACT” that the FBI are there for a very big reason keep watching your papers and news!!
It’s a BIG something and I can’t wait til it hits the TV’s. It should be soon…..
Well now that more time has gone by it has become apparent that the FBI in meeker is a big something! Have been following closley watching other blog sites I.R. going crazy trying to hush some bloggers and making untruthfull statements inregards to peoples personal stories that they share. Claiming them as “untruths” “lies” and “backyard rumors” . So the FBI being here has caused many to come out of the woodwork and tell there stories of disrespect, and accused activity . Could this be the big something? If you have a issue with Meeker County contact: WillmaRC@gmail.com
