WRIGHT COUNTY, MN — An accident with injuries that later turned into a fatality was reported at the intersection of County Road 12 and County Road 138 in Buffalo Township, Aug. 24, according to the Wright County Sheriff’s Office.
Upon arrival when the crash was reported at 10:50 am, deputies found two vehicles with heavy damage in a yard located South East of the intersection. It was determined that a Ford Focus driven by Shirley Henry, 74, of Annandale, had been traveling eastbound on Co Rd 138 and had stopped at a stop sign at County Road 12. The second vehicle, a Dodge Ram pickup, being driven by Kelley Pierce, 41 of Princeton, was southbound on Co Rd 12 approaching Co Rd 138. Henry’s vehicle proceeded into the intersection where it was then struck in the driver’s side by Pierce’s vehicle.
Shirley Henry and her passenger, Thomas Henry (age 75 of Annandale), were transported to the Buffalo Hospital. Thomas Henry was then airlifted to North Memorial Hospital where he later died of his injuries. Kelley Pierce and her passenger, Brittany Tysk (age 36 of Princeton), were not injured.
