Deadline for SMAHC grants approaching

The deadline for Southwest Minnesota Arts and Humanities Council Arts and Learning Grants is Wednesday, April 1 (Round 2), for projects starting after Monday, June 1.  The Arts and Learning grant program is open to schools, communities, and non-profit organizations in the 18 counties of Southwest Minnesota served by SMAHC.  This program provides matching grants to schools, organizations, and communities for artist residencies and field trips.
The Arts and Learning, and Individual Artist workshops scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 24, has been rescheduled for Thursday, Feb. 26. The Individual Artist workshop is from 2 to 4 p.m., and the Arts and Learning workshop is from 4 to 6 p.m.  The workshops are free, but pre-registration is required. Call 800-622-5284 to register for the workshop. Applicants may apply for up to $2,500 for artist residencies, up to $750 for pre-packaged theatre residencies, and up to $600 for field trips.  Each school or organization is limited to $2,500 in Arts and Learning grant funds per year.

The program provides up to $500 to artists of all ages and disciplines to engage in quality study opportunities. Some possibilities for Individual Artist Study Opportunity projects include professional mentorship, workshops, camps, or classes. This grant program is for artists in any stage of their career. Contact the SMAHC office with any questions about possible projects and eligibility. (Funds may not be used towards college tuition for credit).
