DC speech team wins at Wright Co. Conference meet

DASSEL-COKATO, MN - The DC Speech Team competed in the Wright County Conference meet at Glencoe High School Thursday.
The DC Speech team claimed the Wright County Conference Championship, as well as taking seven of the 13 individual championships.
Carrie Duncan was the champion in storytelling while fellow junior classmate Rachel Korhonen took the championship in extemporaneous reading.
The duo team of Ashley Constenius and Samantha Wiley were the champions in duo interpretation, while Abby Jo Imberg was the champion in humorous interpretation.
Elyse Kallgren was the champion in creative expression, and Brian Collins was the champion in discussion.
Trevor Davis was the champion in the category of great speeches.
Other members of the team who placed were:
Laura Rostomily, fourth place storytelling; Jenny Von Ohlen and Jessica Juncewski, second place duo interpretation; Julia Torgerson, second place informative; Lars Torgerson, fourth place informative; Jon Thorson, second place humorous; Lillia Khelif, fourth place humorous; Naomi De Marais, fourth place creative; Kaysha Beckermann, third place creative; Adrienne Haataja, second place oratory; Teegen Ebenhoh, third place oratory; Mischa Cho, fourth place oratory; and Amanda Fett, second place serious prose.
The team will traveled Saturday,  to St. Peter, and will also travel Saturday, March 21 to Mankato East.
