Veterans Day programs set for Friday, Nov. 11
Community members and veterans are welcome to attend any of the veterans programs scheduled in the Dassel-Cokato School District Friday, Nov. 11 in honor of Veterans Day.
Dassel Elementary’s Veterans Day program is at 9:45 a.m. Program to be announced. Kristine Limanen will be speaking about her experience in the military.
Following the program, the veterans are invited for refreshments and conversations with some of our students in the Dassel media center. Veterans are welcome to bring any photos or memorabilia they may have to share with the students.
Cokato Elementary’s program is at 10 a.m. Members of the Legion will talk about flag etiquette. Student council members will also be installed.
The high school/middle school program will be at 2:05 p.m. in the east gym  featuring guest speaker Mark Morris.
No kindergarten Friday, Nov. 11
There will be no kindergarten classes Friday, Nov. 11 due to conferences.
‘Godspell’ performances begin Nov. 11
Performance dates for “Godspell,” the high school fall musical, are Friday, Nov. 11; Saturday, Nov. 12; Friday, Nov. 18; and Saturday, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. and a 2 p.m. matinee Sunday, Nov. 20.
Tickets can be purchased through the high school activities office, $6 for adults and $4 youth (all ages) or online at www.dc.k12.mn.us/pac.
In addition, multi-colored “Godspell” bracelets are for sale for $2 in an effort to raise funds for the high school drama program. See Patti Kampa in the activities office.
Elementary conferences and book fair
Dassel and Cokato elementary schools are hosting their annual book fair, which will take place during conference week.
Conferences are Tuesday, Nov. 15 and Thursday, Nov. 17 from 4-7 p.m.; and  Friday, Nov. 18 from 12:30 to 3 p.m.,  and the book fair will be open during these times.

Fun Run Nov. 19
The PTA and Dassel Snap Fitness will be hosting a Fun Run at the high school track Saturday, Nov. 19 from 9 to 11 a.m., to promote health and fitness in the community.
Students will be racing on the track and participating in other fitness-related activities. Age groups are K-grade 2 (.5 mile), grades 3-4 (1 mile), and grades 5-6 (1.5 miles).
All registered participants will be entered into a prize drawing and receive a finisher shirt, snacks, and beverages.
Registration forms will be sent home with students, and can also be found on the PTA website, www.chargerpta.com. Registration is $5 must be postmarked by Nov. 9 to guarantee a T-shirt.
