Dassel’s levy increase for 2008 is so small (2.97 percent to be exact) the city isn’t required to have a Truth in Taxation hearing. It will have a hearing tonight, however, so folks can see why the levy increase is so little. The hearing will include a Power Point presentation on how the property tax base increased with new construction valued at approximately $4.4 million to $54,143. It’s refreshing to see a community that isn’t taxing everyone to the nth degree.
