The Friends of the Dassel Library (FOL) built and finished two new end caps for the Dassel Library. The end caps will be used to display new or special books, artwork, or collections of library members. The end caps were built by Wayne Medcraft and Myles McGrath and finished by Priscilla Medcraft, all Dassel FOL members. The end caps are placed at the end of bookshelves and will provide much needed display space. The end caps were the first project requested by the Dassel Library.
The FOL presented a gift card for $100 from Wal-Mart to the library. The card will be used to purchase new area rugs and floor chairs for use in the children’s reading area. Other improvements coming are a new copier/fax machine, a new computer and a three-position computer station.
The Dassel FOL is working hard to improve the library and has recently created a customer survey (August 25 edition of the Enterprise Dispatch) to find out what services and hours Dassel area citizens want. The FOL requests library patrons to please turn in the survey sheet or ask for one when at the library.
The FOL is looking for a few good men and women who want to make the Dassel Library more valuable to the community.
The Dassel FOL meets the last Monday of every month at 7 p.m. at the library. For more information call or stop by the Dassel Library. The library is open Monday through Saturday.
