DASSEL, MN — Fire Chief Dale Grochow gave an annual report to the Dassel City Council tonight where he reported the total number of calls, along with a report about what was done with about $8,000 in donations to the department.
The total number of calls came to 235, which included three major house fires and three barn fires, he said. “Last year we had quite a few larger fires,” he observed.
Donations made to the department over the past year were spent toward the purchase of an inflatable Rapid Deployment Craft (RDC), which cost $5,000, along with a defibrillator used for cardiac patients, which was $3,000. Community Chest money given to the department was tagged for the defibrillator, he added.
