6:00 BOARD WORK SESSION-
MONDAY, OCTOBER 10, 2022
BOARD ROOM
In partnership with our communities and families, we will educate and inspire all learners to maximize their potential, promote lifelong learning, and become contributing members of society.
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District No. 466 (Dassel-Cokato, Minnesota) was duly held in the Dassel-Cokato Board Room, Cokato, Minnesota, on Monday, October 10, 2022.
Aho called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM.
The following members were present: Aho, Grochow, Nelson, Sangren, Miller, and Bohnsack.The following were absent: None
The meeting began with the pledge of allegiance.
Motion by Sangren seconded by Nelson to accept the agenda. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Grochow seconded by Sangren, close of open enrollment in first grade. Motion carried unanimously.
Superintendent Report: Raymond had the opportunity to work with SEE on legislative agenda; which will once again include the special education cross subsidy and this year will add English language. MASA board is working on pension reform to be included in their legislative platform. Raymond has started a school board handbook and once its reviewed it will be put on the website. Ray Queener will be presenting some information for board development at the November work session.
Policies 501,502,503,504, & 505 were presented for a first reading. Policies 501, 502, 504, & 505 saw minor changes recommended by MSBA due to changes in statute and case law. Policy 503 was reviewed and will have second reading at the October 24th board meeting.
Report from Savannah Walsh (Special Education Coordinator) who presented an overview of special education and the support they provide from early childhood through 12th grade.
Being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:13 PM.
