DARWIN, MN – Sherri Ann Forcier, of Darwin, was trapped in her flat bed truck after being hit by a semi the evening of Oct. 27, according to Meeker County Chief Deputy Brad Lindgren.
The accident occurred at the intersection of Highway 15 and County Road 18 south of Dassel.
Forcier was traveling north on Highway 15 in a flatbed truck towing a construction trailer.
She was attempting to make a left-hand turn onto County Road 18, according to Lindgren.
Marvin Eugene Miller, of Iowa, was also traveling north, behind Forcier, in a semi with a fully-loaded trailer.
Miller told authorities at the scene that he thought Forcier was turning right onto County Road 18, so he attempted to pass her on the left-hand side.
Forcier was not turning right, but left, and Miller struck her truck on the driver’s side as she was turning, Lindgren said.
Forcier was trapped inside the vehicle. When she was finally extricated, she was taken by ambulance to the Hutchinson hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to Lindgren.
The accident is still under investigation by the Minnesota State Patrol, according to Minnesota State Patrol Captain Al Kutz.
